First,
read Using the OhioLINK Library Catalog. Ask one
of the library staff if there is something you don't
understand.
Second, you should know that you can only borrow books and some
videocassettes. Magazines and reference materials are not eligible for
borrowing.
Third, the OhioLINK library catalog will only let you borrow books
which are not on the shelf in your own library.
Students are limited to a total of 10 books checked out to them from either
OhioLINK libraries or the Clark State Library. Community Patrons are limited
to five.
Follow these
steps:
- Click 'Request
this item' in the record for the book you wish to borrow. This step will
take you to a screen which asks you which institution (school) you are affiliated
with.
- Use the pull
down menu, to choose Clark State.
- Click 'Submit
above information.'
- Now you should
be at a screen that asks for your name. Type your name (first name first,
no capital letters necessary).
- Hit the tab
key and enter your barcode number from the back of your ID card, no spaces
(you may find it easier to use the keypad on the right side of your keyboard).
- You may also
choose an alternate pick up location. Select any college from the drop-down
box if you want to pick up your OhioLINK request anywhere other than Clark
State. The book you've ordered must not be at Clark State or the system
will not allow you to request it. Also be sure to remember what school you
seleced so you can pick up your request! If you forget, this information
is available from 'View
Your Own Record.'
- Click 'Submit
above information.' A message tells you that the request has been sent to
an owning library.
- If, instead,
you get some other message, go to the circulation desk and ask for help.
It could be that you haven't updated your library record for the current
quarter.
How do you
know when your book has arrived?
You can check your own circulation record from any computer with Internet
access. Click "view your won library record" from the Catalogs page.
We'll send you a note when your books are here, or you could call us at (937)
328-6022.
