Mission

The primary mission of the Clark State Library is to support
the academic program of Clark State Community College.

Goals

To collect, organize, and provide access to the best books, periodicals and non-print materials possible which will promote, reinforce, and enrich classroom teaching and learning at Clark State Community College and throughout the OhioLINK community.

• Objective: The Clark State library will not duplicate books and other materials widely available at OhioLINK libraries.
• Objective: The Clark State Library will maintain its balanced lending-borrowing ratio among OhioLINK schools and stay in the top ten percent for fulfillment.
  
• Objective: All faculty are invited to consult in selecting Library materials.

To teach students to use Library materials for optimal results.

• Objective: One hundred percent of sections of English I will receive instruction in the use of the Library.
• Objective: On the survey of graduating students, 75% of respondents will report that their ability to use the Library has improved.
• Objective: On student satisfaction surveys and on library generated surveys of library users, 90 percent of students will report that Library services are good or very good.
  

To assist faculty in obtaining materials that will enhance classroom performance and to assist faculty in locating and obtaining materials necessary for their own research and current awareness.

• Objective: Faculty will report satisfaction with library and media services.
  
• Objective: Administrators will report satisfaction with library and media services

To promote the rights of all individuals in the Clark State community to have access to all types of materials and to ensure their privacy in the use of such materials.

• Objective: Library staff will refuse attempts to censor materials and to break confidentiality of patron records.

To promote the use of the Library by making the community aware of the materials and services available.

• Objective: 90 percent of the college newsletters will contain stories reporting and promoting library services.
