Loan Policy

Interlibrary Loan
The Clark State Community College loans books and photocopies of periodical articles through Interlibrary Loan to academic and public libraries using American Library Association suggested guidelines.

OhioLINK
The Clark State Community College Library loans books to OhioLINK member libraries following OhioLINK policy guidelines.

Community Patrons
Residents of our service area may apply for status as community patrons. Loans are made in accordance with the Community Patron policy.

Audiovisual Materials
Audiovisual materials and equipment are for use primarily at Clark State Community College. In some cases, we will loan audiovisual materials to other college and university libraries. This applies chiefly to SOCHE member schools and according to the cooperative services agreement in force at the time of the request. All licensing and other restrictions for loaning these materials imposed by the publishers will be observed.

Most material dealing with medical and nursing subjects are permanently restricted to the CSCC campus in agreement with the Clark State departments which have purchased these materials and which need to have them available for curricular purposes.

Our audiovisual materials are licensed for classroom use. This imposes further restrictions on the kinds of loans which can be made. In general they can only be used in a class in a not-for-profit institution by the instructor assigned to teach that class and for students registered for that class.

All requests for use of Clark State Community College Library audiovisuals other than those described above must be submitted on organizational letterhead no less than one week in advance of the show date. The request must state the intended use, show date, name of the person who will pick up the item, and the telephone number of the borrower. The loan period for audiovisuals is three days, including the day the material is picked up and the day it is returned. Days on which the CSCC Library is closed are not counted. Loans of audiovisuals cannot be made to for-profit institutions, businesses or individuals; however, Library personnel will provide limited assistance in locating commercial sources of ideas or films for rental or purchase.
